Holland Marsh Wineries Summer Wedding Photographer | Newmarket Wedding Photographer

Emily & Adam’s Sneak Peeks

After almost a year off (thanks to the covid-19 pandemic, ugh), I shot my first 2021 wedding last weekend! It was a gorgeous August summer day at the Holland Marsh Wineries in Newmarket, where Emily and Adam held their outdoor ceremony. Here are some sneak peek photos from their fabulous day!

Hockley Valley Wedding Photos | Orangeville Wedding Photographer

Shannon & Kyle’s Sneak Peeks

I knew Shannon and Kyle’s Hockley Valley wedding photos would be different, because this time, the bride was my sister! Shannon has always been unique – hilarious, random, and a bit crazy. 😉

Above (right), yes, that’s my daughter wearing a hotdog costume. Sadly it wouldn’t fit over Shannon’s wedding dress (she owns the costume), but I’d say it was definitely the highlight of the reception!

Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself!

Shannon and Kyle got married at the Hockley Valley Resort in Mono, Ontario (15 minutes from of Orangeville). It was a HOT summer July day, and the weather forecast wasn’t looking good…

But by some miracle, the rain held off and we had clear skies until later in the evening! (The heat was still pretty brutal though! I’d say 2nd only to the heat on Sabrina & Mason’s wedding day!)

I was Shannon’s matron of honour (and wedding day coordinator, I had my video camera on a tripod that I was moving around, and my 3 kids were there so I had to play “mom”, as well as “dance mom” with some costume changes since my kids did 2 performances during the reception – I wore a lot of hats that day!), so Julie from Julie Broadbent Photography came out and shot most of the day for me up until the beginning of the reception, when my matron of honour duties were over, and I could take over the photography. (I’m doing all the post-processing.) Julie was the perfect photographer for the job, as she knows Hockley Valley Resort like the back of her hand, and was just generally wonderful! Thank you Julie!!

Shannon and Kyle got married outdoors, under the lovely draped tent on the Montclair Patio, and the reception was held in the Aida ballroom.

As it turns out, my daughter is quite the partier. She danced until the reception ended at 1am, and then she helped us clean up!

Congrats guys – more photos to come!

There are so many things I want to say, I don’t even know if I can coherently write them into a blog post. But I’ll try!

As far as my job is concerned, Sabrina and Mason were, without question, the perfect bride and groom. They looked at the camera when they were supposed to, they followed direction, they held the rings properly, but beyond that, and MOST importantly, they showed, throughout the entire day, true and genuine emotion. There was laughter, and happiness and even tears of joy.

As I have mentioned once or twice before, Sabrina and Mason got married on a boat. Not just any boat, a big beautiful ship. The Kajama in Toronto, to be precise, and I would recommend this to anyone! It was so beautiful and peaceful!

Kajama Toronto

Sabrina and Mason both wrote their own vows, and were kind enough to send them to me so I could share them with all of you! During the vows, I don’t think there was a dry eye on that boat! (Side note of awesomeness: They both read their vows off their cell phones!)

Mason went first.

Sabrina,
I love you because you understand me. When I’m mad or frustrated you know what to say to put things into perspective. Though I sometimes don’t listen 😉
I love you because I can hold you so tight. I want to get a close to you as I can. It’s the easiest way I can express how I feel.
I love you because we work so well together. We’ve been through a lot this year and we are ending it the best way possible, together.

Sabrina,
I know for me expressing myself is difficult to put into words. When we had our first date, it was so easy to be together. When we moved in together there was no question. This is the next step for me to let you know I care about you.

I promise you this:
I will laugh with you in times of joy and comfort you in times of sorrow.
I will share in your dreams, and support you as you strive to achieve your goals.
I will listen to you with compassion and understanding,
and speak to you with encouragement.
I will help you when you need it, and step aside when you don’t.
I will remain faithful to you for better or worse, in times of sickness and health.

You are my best friend and I will love and respect you always.

Then, it was Sabrina’s turn.

Mason,

In the immortal words of Ms. Carly Rae Jepsen “Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad. I missed you so, so bad.” As we stand here today before our dear family and friends, I can’t help but share with them the impact of the moment I first met you. Time stood still, I was suddenly exactly where I was supposed to be, looking at the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I had never truly believed in fate before, but in that moment you made me a believer. I thank my lucky stars each day since that moment that I found you. While we may sometimes be separated by cities, work schedules, and my ambitious projects I always look forward to the moment we are together again, when I can go home,
because Home is Whenever I’m with you.

Mason,
I promise that we will always laugh.
Giggle until our bellies are sore,
chuckle until we can speak no more,
and howl until the tears begin to flow.

I promise that we will always talk.
I will listen to your wild dreams, and support you on the hard days.
I will encourage you to reach for your goals, and keep you humble when you succeed.

Mason,
You are my best friend
I will love you till the very end.
You are the someone just for me.

Sabrina and Mason, I am so, so happy for you guys – I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together!
