A Look at Raquel and Eugenio’s Hamilton Wedding

In the cold winter months, I’m definitely not shooting as much as during the rest of the year, but that doesn’t mean I’m not busy! I’m very busy with editing, album design and print orders at the moment! But I didn’t want to go into blog-hibernation and have people wondering if I was still alive – so you can all breathe glorious sighs of relief, here I am!

Over the next little while, I do have some blogging to catch up on! I have some sessions that need to be posted still, but I thought I would start off by doing a little blog-series; a look at some of my 2012 weddings from last year!

We’ll start off with Raquel & Eugenio’s wedding in Stoney Creek – a really, really fun couple, with an adorable little boy! Their Hamilton wedding, and their son’s baptism, was a truly wonderful day!

Jul 022012

Yesterday, I spent Canada Day this year at Raquel & Eugenio’s wedding, and their son Sebastian’s baptism! Definitely a full day! It was REALLY great, Raquel of course was beautiful! And for the most part, everything went along fairly smoothly! I met so many awesome people too!

There were a few “firsts” for me at this wedding/baptism (besides the fact that it was, you know, a wedding AND a baptism). It was the first time I photographed an almost-2-hour-long ceremony that was completely and 100% in Portugese – I didn’t understand a word they were saying. It was the first time I saw a groom pretend to stab his bride with the cake cutting knife (hilarious… you could definitely tell that Raquel & Eugenio have already been together for a really long time when they try to kill each other at the wedding. haha). It was also the first time I have photographed a wedding with not one, but TWO cakes! (One for the cake for the “wedding” and one cake for the “baptism”.)

And little baby Sebastian has to be the easiest baby to photograph!!! You just say his name and he looks at the camera with big smiles! The fact that he is ADORABLE doesn’t hurt either!

All in all, it was a really incredible day. I took so many beautiful images it was really hard to choose just a couple as a “sneak peek” for this blog post!

Raquel, Eugenio and Sebastian, congratulations to all of you on your big day yesterday!!! I was honoured to be a part of it 🙂
