Ancaster Wedding Photographer | The Ancaster Mill


Cheryl & John

How They Met

Cheryl and John initially met in high school, but they didn’t really get to know each other until 2012. They were just friends for three years before they started dating. In 2015, they had their first date, and they’ve been together ever since!

There was really no question for either of us.

The Proposal


John proposed during a family photoshoot, outdoors at Ball’s Falls. John’s daughter, Sofia, was there, as he wanted the whole family to be a part of the engagement.

The Wedding

John and Cheryl had to reschedule their wedding twice due to COVID-19, but they finally had their big wedding, and celebrated with family and friends! Their wedding was at the Ancaster Mill, in Ancaster Ontario. They had an indoor ceremony at Ancaster Mill’s gorgeous Miller’s Chapel.

Getting Ready


John, and his best man Kyle, both got ready at the Barrack’s Inn, just up the street from the venue.


It was quite handy that the inn was so close, because it just took me (and later, the guys) a quick 5-minute drive to get to the Ancaster Mill to see how the girls were doing.

Once Cheryl and her maid of honour (and cake artist!), Cynthia were ready to go, we did some quick bridal portraits before heading to the chapel.

The Ceremony


John Shore officiated the indoor ceremony at The Miller’s Chapel, and he did a fantastic job. I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone!

The Wedding Party


Cynthia and Kyle made a fantastic wedding party. They were not only helpful, but they kept the mood light and upbeat (and stress-free!) with their hilarious senses of humour! I had the best time photographing these four all day!

The Newlyweds!


The mandatory bride and groom portraits, of course! The Ancaster Mill has so many great photo spots, you can really take photos pretty much anywhere. I do have some favourite photo locations though 😉

The Reception

The reception was held in the Millview Room.

Emily & Adam’s Sneak Peeks

Kristine & Outhith

How They Met

Kristine and Outhith met at Sheridan College on February 26, 2010. They were in the same class. Outhith was very quiet, and he went to college just to focus on his studies. (Meanwhile, Kristine has a bubbly personality, and is very social.) Since Outhith was so quiet, Kristine thought he was so mysterious. He barely spoke or socialized with the other students.
Anyway, it was a very cold day, and Outhith asked Kristine to watch a movie called “Shutter Island” – and things took off from there!

The Proposal

After dating for eight years (and having a son together), Outhith decided it was time to propose. It was an evening in November, and Outhith took Kristine back to Sheridan College (where they first met). They had this favourite spot on campus, right by the pond where they used to hang out a lot in their college days. Outhith took her back there, and asked Kristine to marry him on bended-knee.

The Wedding

Kristine and Outhith had a small wedding in Bradford, at the home of Rev. Pamela Covert-Slater, on the anniversary of the day they met – February 26th! They are also planning a big destination wedding in Mexico next year (also on February 26th)!

Getting married in February, Kristine and Outhith were hoping for a “winter wonderland” type of wedding, with lots of snow. Oddly enough, everything melted the week leading up to their wedding! I used some photoshop magic to create a bit of snow for a few photos, just for fun 🙂

Carol & Aaron’s Wedding

How They Met

Aaron’s best friend Eric, lived across the street from Carol. Carol met Eric, and he invited her over one day to hang out, and she met Aaron. Carol and Aaron didn’t see each other until the next year. Then, they exchanged phone numbers and went on their first date the next week. Their first date was at St. Louis Wings Bar & Grill.

The Proposal

Three and a half years after their first date, Carol and Aaron went on a weekend vacation to Niagara Falls to celebrate their birthdays. They took a ride on the skywheel, and when they reached the top, Aaron proposed!

The Wedding

Getting Ready

Carol got ready at her mother’s house in Newmarket – and yes, as you’ll see in the photos below, she wore a light pink wedding dress!

The Ceremony

Carol and Aaron had a civil ceremony, at the Newmarket Municipal offices. It was a lovely ceremony, with a few family and friends in attendance. The ceremony was officiated by the always awesome, Carmel Goodman.

The Newlyweds!

After the ceremony, we went behind the municipal building into the gardens and did some family photos. After that, the guests all went off to Cachet Restaurant where the reception was going to be held, while the newlyweds and I went next door to Fairy Lake, and took some photos of the two of them together.

Ashley & Trevor’s Sneak Peeks

I loved being Ashley and Trevor’s Bradford wedding photographer! They had a fairly low-key wedding, at the residence of their officiant, Rev. Pamela Covert-Slater. The ceremony was indoors as it was threatening to rain (though it only lightly rained so it wasn’t too bad), and then after the ceremony the rain was gone so we got to do photos outside – hurray!
