Frances & Beth
How They Met
Frances and Beth met through a mutual friend who lives in Toronto. They had each heard of the other, and had seen each other at a couple of events, but hadn’t really had a chance to talk for over a year.
When they finally did start talking, there was an immediate attraction for both of them – They connected on many levels right away!
For their first date, they met up at a barbecue. Things took off from there, and four years later came…
The Proposal
Beth, Frances, her two daughters Jasmine and Melanie, and their dog Skipper, were on a five-day canoe trip in Algonquin Park. They were watching a beautiful sunset from their campsite, when Frances turned and asked Beth to marry her in front of Jasmine and Melanie. Beth said yes of course, and the four of them hugged, cried, and laughed. Jasmine and Melanie starting planning for the wedding at that very moment!
When I was photographing the rings, I couldn’t help but notice that the four rings elegantly symbolized their new family. I pictured the two engagement rings as Beth and Frances, and the wedding rings as Jasmine and Melanie. (I don’t normally make up little “ring families” but I liked the symbolism in this case.)
The Wedding
Getting Ready
Beth and Frances both got ready at their home. They got dressed in separate rooms, and then had a First Look in their dining room before heading over to the Holland Marsh Wineries.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was held outdoors, with DIY wooden signs scattered around the venue. It was a gorgeous sunny summer day, and a great day to get married!
I LOVE the group photo above! Right after the ceremony, the brides walked back down the aisle, followed by the five bridesmaids, and they all surrounded the brides and hugged and cheered. The photo you see above is a pure candid shot of them post-hug right after the ceremony!
The Wedding Party
The fantastic wedding party consisted of Frances’ two daughters and Beth’s three nieces. All five of them acted like sisters though, I noticed, and they really made the day all the more special for Frances and Beth.
The Newlyweds!
Some photos of the gorgeous brides, of course!
The Reception
The only thing I can think of to say about the reception was that it was full of love, laughter and fun!

Frances & Beth’s Sneak Peeks
I had the pleasure of photographing Frances and Beth’s Holland Marsh Winery wedding last weekend – and it was so much fun! They lucked into a beautiful, sunny day – even though the week before the weather forecast was predicting thunderstorms!
Frances and Beth are both so kind and wonderful, I just loved being able to document their special day for them!
They had an all-female wedding party (girl power, woooo!), which included Frances’ daughters, and Beth’s nieces. All five of them (and their spouses!) helped out with everything, and helped create the perfect day for Frances and Beth.
Congrats Frances and Beth!

I can’t really think of any more to say beyond what I already said in Paula and Leanne’s wedding sneak peek blog post. Their Kettleby wedding day at The Manor was perfect. The weather was fantastic (a bit chilly and windy though), both brides looked beautiful, and the day was full of pure happiness and joy.
How They Met
Paula and Leanne met playing baseball (Ladies Slo-Pitch) in Richmond Hill. When they met, Leanne was intrigued. Paula’s first thought was “I’ve got to get to know this girl!”. They went on their first date at the Haunted Magic Hill Farm.
The Proposal
After five years of dating, Paula and Leanne went to a baseball game, and Paula proposed on bended knee.
The Wedding
After a long engagement (another five years!), Paula and Leanne tied the knot on a gorgeous fall day in October, at The Manor in Kettleby.
I’m not usually surprised by much when I show up at weddings, because I have a thorough pre-wedding workflow, but Leanne surprised me when I saw her brooch bouquet that she made herself! What an amazing job she did on it too!
Before the ceremony, both brides were happy and excited!
An indoor ceremony was planned, which was probably a good thing since it was windy and chilly (yet gorgeous) outside!
The lovely wedding party!
These two lovely ladies were so photogenic, and genuinely happy, it made them naturals in front of the camera! Which in turn, made my job pretty easy 😉
Following the reception entrance, there they did the traditional Jewish Hora dance. I love these cultural traditions, they’re all so unique and symbolic in their own way – and also usually a lot of fun!
Paula actually fell off her chair the first time! I had never seen that before, but it wasn’t a big deal. Everyone was laughing and having a great time! Leanne looked like she was having the time of her life!
Look at the cakes! The attention to detail was pretty impressive! Kelli did a fantastic job!
Thanks to Paula’s very expressive face, these two photos below are now officially my favourite “feeding the cake to each other” photos EVER!
Thank you Paula and Leanne for having me be a part of your wonderful day! I had an absolute blast documenting your wedding!
