I don’t normally do a sneak peek blog post for portrait sessions or cake smashes, but the Yoda cake smash was TOO CUTE, I couldn’t wait to share!
Olive’s little brother River turned one! And his one-year cake smash was EPIC. River’s dad got to choose the theme this time around, and Jeff chose Star Wars! Here are just a mere few of my favourites!
Happy 1st Birthday River!!

Jennie and Lucas originally met online, but they had their first date at the Hungry Brew Hops in Newmarket (spoiler alert: That’s also where they had their wedding reception!) When they met in-person, they both thought the other one looked better in-person than in their online photos (that’s always a good thing!). Things took off from there, and 2.5 years later they were engaged!
It was a normal summer evening in June, and Jennie and Lucas were hanging out on their back patio, reminiscing about when they first met, and Lucas just randomly decided to propose!
Jennie and Lucas got married at Madsen’s Greenhouse in Newmarket. They had their ceremony outdoors, on a gorgeous day in June, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The ceremony was officiated by Jennie’s aunt, and the bride and groom wrote their own — very amusing — vows.
We did all the bride and groom’s photos on the gorgeous grounds of Madsen’s Greenhouse (of course!), and we got the photos done so quickly we were actually a whole hour ahead of schedule!
As I mentioned earlier, the reception was held at Hungry Brew Hops (in the upstairs party room), which is located right on Main Street in Newmarket.
Congrats Jennie & Lucas! I loved being part of your relaxed and easy-going wedding day, and I know everyone had a fantastic time! I’m so happy I got to be a part of it!

Jennie and Lucas got married on a gorgeous (and hot!) Saturday in June. Everything went perfectly. Both Jennie and Lucas were so relaxed and just ready to enjoy the day – it was completely stress-free! Here are a few photos of the newlyweds!

Jeff, Louise, Olive & River’s Spring Family Photos
Another fantastic photo session with Jeff, Louise and their adorable children!
Jeff and Louise are longtime clients (and now, friends!) of mine, and our photo sessions are always a blast. Not to mention, their 3-year-old Olive, is THE BEST toddler I have ever photographed in my life, and she has thus earned herself the title of my Photo BFF. (<3 you BFF!!)
We photographed at my least-favourite time of the day (Noon! Bleh!), because we had to coordinate between another photoshoot I was doing, and little River’s naptime. So we worked with what we had!
Sadly, the ENTIRE “P” family was not present at this photoshoot – their three cats, and one dog, who clearly have very busy schedules, could not attend. However, I will include their cuteness in this blogpost, because…. I can 🙂

Dexter is one year old, and was adopted from a rescue organization by Alexis & Todd. After having him for only 6 days, they discovered that Dexter had a Femoral Head Fracture (a broken growth plate) and requires surgery to either place a pin connecting the femur to the hip, or remove the femoral head altogether (they chose the latter for better long-term results). Due to several circumstances, Dexter’s injury went unnoticed by the rescue organization.
As a family, Alexis and Todd were aware of the risks of adoption, but of course no one is prepared to have to be faced with such a huge financial undertaking only one week in! They immediately fell in love with Dexter, and “returning” him was never an option. They immediately started thinking of ways of how they could raise money for his expensive surgery, as Dexter deserves to live a pain-free and active life!
I decided to help Alexis and Todd raise money for Dexter by creating “Dog Day for Dexter”, where people could bring their dogs out to have some photos done in exchange for a donation to Dexter’s surgery.
