Paula & Leanne

I can’t really think of any more to say beyond what I already said in Paula and Leanne’s wedding sneak peek blog post. Their Kettleby wedding day at The Manor was perfect. The weather was fantastic (a bit chilly and windy though), both brides looked beautiful, and the day was full of pure happiness and joy.

How They Met

Paula and Leanne met playing baseball (Ladies Slo-Pitch) in Richmond Hill. When they met, Leanne was intrigued. Paula’s first thought was “I’ve got to get to know this girl!”. They went on their first date at the Haunted Magic Hill Farm.

The Proposal

After five years of dating, Paula and Leanne went to a baseball game, and Paula proposed on bended knee.

The Wedding

After a long engagement (another five years!), Paula and Leanne tied the knot on a gorgeous fall day in October, at The Manor in Kettleby.

I’m not usually surprised by much when I show up at weddings, because I have a thorough pre-wedding workflow, but Leanne surprised me when I saw her brooch bouquet that she made herself! What an amazing job she did on it too!

Before the ceremony, both brides were happy and excited!

An indoor ceremony was planned, which was probably a good thing since it was windy and chilly (yet gorgeous) outside!

The lovely wedding party!

These two lovely ladies were so photogenic, and genuinely happy, it made them naturals in front of the camera! Which in turn, made my job pretty easy ๐Ÿ˜‰

Following the reception entrance, there they did the traditional Jewish Hora dance. I love these cultural traditions, they’re all so unique and symbolic in their own way – and also usually a lot of fun!

Paula actually fell off her chair the first time! I had never seen that before, but it wasn’t a big deal. Everyone was laughing and having a great time! Leanne looked like she was having the time of her life!

Look at the cakes! The attention to detail was pretty impressive! Kelli did a fantastic job!

Thanks to Paula’s very expressive face, these two photos below are now officially my favourite “feeding the cake to each other” photos EVER!

Paula & Leanne’s Sneak Peeks

Today I get to share some of The Manor wedding photos, from Paula and Leanne’s perfect fall wedding day! Paula and Leanne lucked into an absolutely perfect autumn day to have their wedding at The Manor in Kettleby! It was a bit chilly, but beautiful! And who doesn’t love the fall colours? To go with the season, Paula and Leanne chose burnt orange as their wedding colour!

When I arrived, both brides were very excited, a little bit nervous, and definitely thinking about each other. They wondered how the other one was doing, if they were happy/excited, etc etc. The two photos below are of the brides during the “getting ready” part of the day, before they saw each other at their indoor ceremony.

At the reception, Leanne’s brother was the MC. One of the things he said (and I’m paraphrasing because I can’t remember exactly) was “There are a lot of words to describe Paula and Leanne, but I think the best one is HAPPY.” Truer words were never spoken! The brides were just happy, carefree and full of joy, all day! I love the photo below on the right, it was a candid shot but you can just feel the happiness – just look at the smile on Leanne’s face! (And Leanne made that gorgeous brooch bouquet herself!)

I remember when I took the photo on the left so vividly. Leanne was walking down this walkway, and Paula was standing next to me. Leanne’s dress was flared out behind her and it just about took Paula’s breath away. She said to me “Wow. She is so beautiful.”, and when I looked over at Paula, she just seemed entranced by Leanne’s beauty. It was a really great moment.

Then I told Paula “Hey, go join her over there.”…

Did I mention the incredible fall colours? The best ones were right out front, and right by the parking lot, and I don’t happen to be a fan of parked cars in the backgrounds of my photos – but we made due ๐Ÿ˜‰

Congrats Paula & Leanne! It was an absolute pleasure documenting your wedding day! You are both so warm and welcoming (and have the best sense of humours!), and really made me feel like I was hanging out with some friends one one of the most important and memorable days of their lives. By the way, you two are now officially my favourite “cake cutting and feeding it to each other” couple of all time. See photos below ๐Ÿ˜‰

Amanda & Kenny

I honestly can’t say enough good things about Amanda and Kenny! Being their Kettleby wedding photographer was an absolute joy! Amanda and Kenny are such sweet, kind people – and they are totally adorable together!

How They Met

Amanda and Kenny met in 2007, at their work in Toronto. When they first met, Amanda thought Kenny was cute, but a bit of a know-it-all. Kenny thought Amanda was sweet and innocent (Amanda laughs at that, but I can totally see that! Amanda definitely gives off a sweet/innocent vibe!). They went on their first date to Jack Astors, in the Scarborough Town Centre, and 6 years later, Kenny proposed.

The Proposal

Kenny proposed (and I can only assume he did it in a most adorable manner) while he and Amanda were on a trip to Nigara-on-the-Lake. Amanda said yes at the Price of Wales hotel. They planned their wedding for a little over 18 months before tying the knot!

The Wedding

Amanda and Kenny had a beautiful sunny day for their wedding – which was perfect for their outdoor ceremony at The Manor, right in front of the gazebo, and overlooking the water.

I was especially excited for this wedding, not only because Amanda and Kenny are such a sweet couple, but also because they had my top 3 favourite wedding details! A poofy dress, a looonnngggg veil, and fog during their First Dance!

If I had to describe it, I would say that Amanda and Kenny had a very classic, traditional wedding.
Everything just seemed so perfect! I mean, look at Amanda’s bouquet – it’s perfect!

The bridal suite that the girls were in was great. It had a big window, and lots of light!

The photo below reminds me of that moment so vividly. Amanda was getting ready and then she turned, looked at herself in the mirror, took a deep breath and said “Okay…. I am ready to get married now.” And it was this big moment, like all of the planning that she had done for the past year-and-a-half had finally all come together, and she was ready to enjoy the day, and marry the love of her life.

Amanda’s mother passed away a few years ago, and they did a Rose Ceremony in memory of her mother, during the ceremony, but we also wanted to do a special photo as well. I love how it came out.

Some pre-ceremony bridal portraits!

I just love these two photos below. Amanda with the adorable flower girl, Brooklyn – Brooklyn looking up at Amanda and Amanada smiling down at Brooklyn… it’s just perfect! Amanda’s grandmother putting on her bracelet was such a nice moment as well. It’s so rare for grandparents to be involved in the “getting ready” part of the day, I love it!

The awesome wedding party! (No, you aren’t seeing double, Kenny and his Best Man are identical twins! I found that out on the day of the wedding. That was a fun surprise. Ha. Actually I vaguely remember Kenny telling me at our initial consultation that he had a twin, but I didn’t think much of it.)

The gorgeous bridesmaids! Sarah (the blonde one), traveled all the way from Vancouver to be in Amanda’s bridal party!

The handsome groomsmen!

We had almost an hour for bride & groom photos, so the videographers and I made the most of it!

As I said earlier, one of my top 3 favourite wedding details is a nice long veil! They make for such awesome and dramatic wedding photos! ๐Ÿ˜€

Fog during the First Dance – yep another one of my favourite wedding details! It somehow just makes it more magical – like dancing in the clouds.

The newlyweds at their beautiful sweetheart table! Sweetheart tables are getting more and more popular, I’ve noticed! (They are the “head table” at the reception, except only the bride and groom sit there.)

Amanda and her brother danced to “You Are Not Alone” by Michael Jackson, and the WHOLE room was in tears. It was beautiful.

And of course, Kenny danced with his mother. His mom (who is so kind and wonderful!) seemed a bit emotional – but I know that when my sons get married, and I dance with them at their weddings, I’m going to be a blubbering mess, so I totally get it.

To Amanda and Kenny – your wedding day was absolutely perfect, and I’m SO thrilled I got to be a part of it! Congrats to both of you and your families!

Amanda & Kenny’s Sneak Peek

I am very excited to be able to share some sneak peeks from Amanda and Kenny’s wedding at The Manor in Kettleby (near Newmarket)! Their Manor wedding pictures are gorgeous, and they are such a sweet couple!

They have been engaged for over a year-and-a-half, and after doing their Fenelon Falls engagement session this past fall, I got to know them a bit better and I knew for sure that they were just perfect together, and so obviously in love!

Amanda was a most-beautiful bride! I do love a poofy wedding dress and long veil (loveloveLOVE long veils! They make for such fun dramatic wedding photos!), and Amanda totally rocked it!

In addition to a rose ceremony, we did a photo to honour the memory of Amanda’s mother.

Amanda and Kenny had a beautiful outdoor ceremony on the grassy area in front of the wooden gazebo at The Manor, with a view that looked out over the water. Complete with blue skies and whispy clouds! Of course I must mention the heat…. it was HOT! Something like 32*C – 34*C I believe!
The Manor wedding photography by www.jnphotography.ca @filemanager

Kenny and Amanda had 6 groomsmen, 3 bridesmaids, and 1 adorable little flower girl. And yes, Kenny’s best man was his identical twin brother! (Who did a really funny speech at the reception too.)
