Cheryl & John

How They Met

Cheryl and John initially met in high school, but they didn’t really get to know each other until 2012. They were just friends for three years before they started dating. In 2015, they had their first date, and they’ve been together ever since!

There was really no question for either of us.

The Proposal

John proposed during a family photoshoot, outdoors at Ball’s Falls. John’s daughter, Sofia, was there, as he wanted the whole family to be a part of the engagement.

The Wedding

John and Cheryl had to reschedule their wedding twice due to COVID-19, but they finally had their big wedding, and celebrated with family and friends! Their wedding was at the Ancaster Mill, in Ancaster Ontario. They had an indoor ceremony at Ancaster Mill’s gorgeous Miller’s Chapel.

Getting Ready

John, and his best man Kyle, both got ready at the Barrack’s Inn, just up the street from the venue.

It was quite handy that the inn was so close, because it just took me (and later, the guys) a quick 5-minute drive to get to the Ancaster Mill to see how the girls were doing.

Once Cheryl and her maid of honour (and cake artist!), Cynthia were ready to go, we did some quick bridal portraits before heading to the chapel.

The Ceremony

John Shore officiated the indoor ceremony at The Miller’s Chapel, and he did a fantastic job. I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone!

The Wedding Party

Cynthia and Kyle made a fantastic wedding party. They were not only helpful, but they kept the mood light and upbeat (and stress-free!) with their hilarious senses of humour! I had the best time photographing these four all day!

The Newlyweds!

The mandatory bride and groom portraits, of course! The Ancaster Mill has so many great photo spots, you can really take photos pretty much anywhere. I do have some favourite photo locations though 😉

The Reception

The reception was held in the Millview Room.

Congrats Cheryl & John!

Jacqueline & Zade

How They Met

Jacquline and Zade met through a friend’s house party. When they first met, Jacqueline was completely mesmerized by Zade’s charm and magnetic energy. Zade knew right away, “She’s the one.”.

They didn’t actually go out anywhere for their first date, they hung out at Zade’s apartment and spent their time drinking Alize, talking, and watching TV.

Ten years later, Zade popped the question!

The Proposal

Zade devised a devious plan to propose. He woke Jacqueline up (by throwing her housecoat at her), and told her that their beloved dog, Baby, was sprayed by a skunk in the backyard. In a panic, Jacqueline got up and ran outside, only to see Baby beside a kneeling Zade, asking her to marry him.

Getting Ready

Jacqueline and her sister got ready in one of the bridal suites at the Ancaster Mill.

Jacqueline and Zade did a quick First Look before the ceremony, and then Jacqueline retreated back to the bridal suite, and Zade went to the outdoor ceremony area to greet the arriving guests.

The Ceremony

The Streamside Chapel at the Ancaster Mill is a beautiful place to get married! It is literally, “stream side”. Just to the right of the ceremony area there’s a little stream running through the strees, and you can hear the water strickling down the path. The birds were chirping, and it was all around a beautiful ceremony!

The Newlyweds!

The Ancaster Mill has some beautiful spots for wedding photos! My favourite of course, being the cascading waterfalls!

The Reception

The reception was held in the 1812 Room. Right after the newly married couple were announced in, they did their first dance, and then sat down to a delicious dinner!

Jacqueline & Zade’s Sneak Peeks

You may remember Jacqueline and Zade from when they were brutally murdered during their engagement session. Well as it turns out, they both survived, and they tied the knot at their Ancaster Mill wedding this month!

They had an outdoor ceremony at the secluded and absolutely lovely streamside chapel, and then we did photos of the newlyweds after the ceremony! Zade didn’t see his bride until she walked down the aisle – but it was worth the wait, as she looked incredible!

A Look at Raquel and Eugenio’s Hamilton Wedding

In the cold winter months, I’m definitely not shooting as much as during the rest of the year, but that doesn’t mean I’m not busy! I’m very busy with editing, album design and print orders at the moment! But I didn’t want to go into blog-hibernation and have people wondering if I was still alive – so you can all breathe glorious sighs of relief, here I am!

Over the next little while, I do have some blogging to catch up on! I have some sessions that need to be posted still, but I thought I would start off by doing a little blog-series; a look at some of my 2012 weddings from last year!

We’ll start off with Raquel & Eugenio’s wedding in Stoney Creek – a really, really fun couple, with an adorable little boy! Their Hamilton wedding, and their son’s baptism, was a truly wonderful day!

(For those of you who subscribe to my blog via email, I know sometimes the embedded videos don’t come through, so if you can’t see the slideshow below, click here.)

I’m told that in European culture, it’s common practice for the bride and groom to get re-dressed up (yep, the bride has her make-up re-done, and her hair re-done) on another day after the wedding to do their official bride and groom portraits. We didn’t have time on Raquel and Eugenio’s really busy wedding day so, they got dressed up again, and we went out 3 weeks later (had to squeeze them into my busy schedule – wedding season is in full swing right now!) and did their wedding portraits this past Sunday out in Hamilton!

We lucked into a GREAT day!…. until our luck ran out and a thunderstorm was upon us. Just pouring rain! So we did what any rational human beings would do… we continued the photoshoot at a nearby waterfall. 😉 And I’m so glad we did because the images are so beautiful!!

I had a great afternoon with you guys (and your ADORABLE son, of course!!), so so SO much fun!! Definitely a day that you’ll remember I think 😉
